The Shelburne League of the Traveling Baskets’ Third Annual BikeFest held in front of Town Hall on Saturday, June 1 was incredibly well attended thanks to the return of summer weather. Pleased with their decision to postpone the event because of inclement weather last weekend, organizers Susan Hull Grasso and Graciela Israel-Meyer estimated that 40 bikes were tuned during the event. “There were a lot of people who came to the event today,” said Grasso.  “This event grows with each passing year thanks to the efforts of resident volunteers and Local Motion. This year we added a two-mile community bike excursion to the LaPlatte River Overlook led by Shelburne Police Office Josh Flore and 15 cyclists participated. A very successful beginning.”

Interested residents who would like to help plan for next year’s bigger and better event please contact Grasso at 985-0605 or Israel-Meyer at 985-5284.
