Redhawks upset Rebels

Champlain Valley Union’s boys lacrosse team pulled a 9-7 upset during the D-I quarterfinal on Friday, June 7 in South Burlington.  Advancing to the semifinals for the 14th consecutive year, the Redhawks will play at second-seeded Mount Anthony today, Thursday, June 13. Nevin DiParlo and Elliot Mitchell scored three goals apiece to lead the Redhawks. Matt Palmer and Dylan Schaefer had the other goals for CVU.

Defending champs advance

Champlain Valley’s Davis Mikell won the pitching duel against BFA-St. Albans Brian Conner in a 1-0 win Sunday afternoon, June 9 to advance to the D-I finale. Mikell pitched a two-hitter and fanned nine. Hayden Smith scored the only run in the third inning on Will Potter’s RBI single. Potter finished with two hits.

Redhawks loss completes season

Top seeded South Burlington ended Champlain Valley’s girls lacrosse season with an 18-7 win on Friday, June 7. In the loss Brenna Gorman contributed three goals while Kate Raszka and Anne Spector scored a goal apiece for the Redhawks.
