The prestigious P.E.O. STAR Scholarship, for the 2013-2014 academic year, was presented to Champlain Valley Union senior Megan Kloeckner. Out of nearly 2,000 applicants only 302 were selected for scholarship and Megan was among them. The scholarship was presented by Susan Kapsalis, P.E.O., Chapter C, VT president, and Katharine Stockman, P.E.O., Chapter C, VT STAR Scholarship chairperson.
The daughter of Gisele and Andrew Kloeckner of Shelburne, Megan was recommended for this scholarship by Chapter C of Burlington. She is committed to attend St. Lawrence University where she has plans to study anthropology this fall.
The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics, and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application. A student must be recommended by a P.E.O. chapter.
