Last Wednesday afternoon Grandmother Goose, aka author Marilyn Webb Neagley, dropped in to Shelburne Farms and shared Loosie B. Goosie’s remarkable story of rescue and friendship with children and their families. At right, the children receive loose feathers from Grandmother Goose before hand-decorating goose-shaped cookies in Loosie’s honor. “Loosie B. Goosie” is based on a true story that happened when the author was president of Shelburne Farms. Neagley joined forces with the talented young illustrator and Rhode Island School of Design student, Abby Stoner, also of Shelburne. The book is published by Wind Ridge Books of VT (WRB) and 10 percent of net profits from the sale of the book will be donated to Shelburne Farms. “Loosie B. Goosie” can be found in local bookstores.
