Pierson Library will be closing at 4 pm on Wednesday, May 16 for an important staff meeting. We will open as usual at 10 am on Thursday, May 17.
Addition to the Pierson Library Board of Trustees
On April 24 the Shelburne Selectboard appointed Adam Brooks to his first three year term on the Pierson Library Board of Trustees. Adam wants to give back to the community and he cares about the library so serving as a trustee seems to be a perfect fit. He is the new Executive Director of Burlington’s South End Business Association. Adam and his son can often be seen visiting Pierson Library. Also at the April 24 meeting current trustee Marlene Moore was reappointed to another three year term. Congratulations to both Adam and Marlene.
Vermont author to speak at Pierson Library
On Saturday, May 5, at 1 pm Vermont author Yannick Murphy will be at the library to sign books and talk about her latest novel, “The Call.” “The Call” is a beautifully written novel about a Vermont large animal veterinarian and his family. As Geraldine Brooks, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of “Caleb’s Crossing” writes, “This is a wonderful novel. Original, suspenseful, funny, and profoundly moving. It’s about family, community, the human bond with animals, and–oh yeah—spaceships.” Join us on May 5 to meet Yannick Murphy and hear more about “The Call” and her other books.
