During a brief, early summer business meeting, the Shelburne Community School Board finalized details that will impact students and staff when the new academic year begins.

Preceded by a Chittenden South Supervisory Union (CSSU) meeting, the business hearing acted on requests by Community School Administrators to hire additional faculty, OKed a leave of absence, and increased positions.
According to the CSSC Office, the Community School is advertising for a new middle level teacher; increasing time for a fine arts and music educators; and seeking a replacement for an elementary classroom teacher.
During the Board’s last meeting earlier this spring, the panel listened to and granted approval for Chairman Russ Caffry to authorize principals Pati Beaumont and Allan Miller to offer job conditional offers of employment before bringing School Directors directly into the picture.
Shelburne Community School Board Vice Chairman Robert Finn said four of the five Directors attended the business meeting, which was held at Champlain Valley Union High School.
