Recreation office hours: The office will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5. Have a safe and fun July 4th holiday!

18th Annual Summer Concert Series hosted by Shelburne Farms: The Rec Dept. has planned another great line up of artists for you to enjoy this summer at the Farm Barn. Set up your lawn chair and blanket and bring your own picnic dinner. Shelburne Farms will offer delicious farm fresh food for sale at their Farm Cart and the Recreation Committee will have our mouth water popcorn available as well. This event is certain to be a pleasure for the whole family! Kids will love visiting with the animals or dancing on the lawn, and everyone enjoys the great music. The gate opens at 5:30 pm; concerts begin at 6:30 pm. (Except last concert, which starts at 7 pm). ** Donations welcome at the gate**

Rain Site Information:  In case of inclement weather, the Rec Dept. may have to move the concert from Shelburne Farms, except for the July 31st concert, indoors to the Shelburne Town Gym. Don’t let the rain spoil your fun! Bring your chairs and picnic and join us anyway for a great concert! Call the Recreation Dept. at 985-9551 for last minute updates.

Basketball Camp: July 8-12; Kids will have fun while learning the basic skills and fundamentals of basketball. Emphasis will be on improving skills, teamwork, and basic knowledge of the game. Participants will receive a camp t-shirt. Directed by TJ Sawyer. Camp hours are 8:30 am – 12 pm for ages 7-9 and 1- 4:30 pm for ages 10-12.  The camp fee is $100 and will be held in the Town Center Gym.

Field Hockey Camp: July 8-12; This camp is the perfect summer introduction to field hockey for beginners or a chance to practice skills for those who already play. Players must provide their own stick, mouth guard, shin guards, and a full water bottle. A camp t-shirt is included. This camp is for 7-14 yr olds and will run from 8:30 am-12 pm at the fields next to the Field House for $100.  The returning camp director is Megan Maynard

Creative Kids, Tumble, and Fun – July 22-26; One combined morning camp to give your child both a physical and creative outlet for their summer energy! Gymnastics is a fun and healthy way for kids to develop coordination, balance, strength, and confidence. Fundamentals of tumbling and balance beam will be geared towards both those students who have never tried the sport before as well as those already practicing cartwheels in the backyard (or living room). Each day the group will learn how to complete a different Arts and Crafts project, such as friendship bracelets, colorful paper mosaics, and classic macaroni artwork! All materials will be provided. Camp time will be structured as one hour of Gymnastics, a half hour of snack/break/outdoor time, and one hour of Arts and Crafts. Campers should wear comfortable clothing that allows for full movement, and bring sturdy shoes (no flip-flops) for outdoor activities, weather permitting. Please pack your camper a healthy snack to help him/her refuel mid-morning, and water bottles are recommended.

This camp will run from 9:30 am-12 pm for 4-7 year olds in the Shelburne Town Gym for a fee of $95.  The camp instructor will be Karen Krajacic.
