18th Annual Summer Concert Series hosted by Shelburne Farms: The next concert will be on July 24 featuring the Janice Dompke Duo playing a series of standards, ballads, and blues from the 30s-50s. Set up your lawn chair and blanket and bring your own picnic dinner. Shelburne Farms will offer delicious farm-fresh food for sale at their farm cart and the Recreation Committee will have mouthwatering popcorn available as well. Kids will love visiting with the animals or dancing on the lawn, and everyone enjoys the great music. The gate opens at 5:30 pm; concerts begin at 6:30 pm. **Donations welcome at the gate**

The official concert sponsor is Almartin Volvo. Sponsors of the Fireworks display: Automaster, Associates in Orthodontics, Rice Lumber, Precourt Investment Co., and Shelburne Supermarket.  Rain Site Info - In case of inclement weather, we will move the concert from Shelburne Farms indoors to the Shelburne Town Gym. Don’t let the rain spoil your fun! Bring your chairs and picnic and join us anyway for a great concert! Call the Recreation Dept. at 985-9551 for last minute updates.

British Soccer Challenger Camp: Join British Soccer Camps for another week of fun for the beginner to intermediate soccer player. Register online at www.challengersports.com or at Shelburne Rec. Office. All campers receive a soccer ball, t-shirt, and evaluation. Challenger Registration form is required. Camp dates are July 22-26 and will be held at Harbor Road Fields.  Fees vary depending on camp.

Creative Kids, Tumble and Fun – July 22-26. One combined morning camp to give your child both a physical and creative outlet for their summer energy! Gymnastics is a fun and healthy way for kids to develop coordination, balance, strength, and confidence. Fundamentals of tumbling and balance beam will be geared towards both those students who have never tried the sport before as well as those already practicing cartwheels in the backyard (or living room). Each day the group will learn how to complete a different Arts and Crafts project, such as friendship bracelets, colorful paper mosaics, and classic macaroni artwork! All materials will be provided. Camp time will be structured as one hour of gymnastics, a half hour of snack/break/outdoor time, and one hour of arts and crafts. Campers should wear comfortable clothing that allows for full movement, and bring sturdy shoes (no flip-flops) for outdoor activities, weather permitting. Please pack your camper a healthy snack to help him/her refuel mid-morning, and water bottles are recommended. This camp will run from 9:30 am-12 pm for 4-7 year olds in the Shelburne Town Gym for a fee of $95. The camp instructor will be Karen Krajacic.

Musical Theater Day Camp: July 29-Aug. 3 from 9 am-3 pm for $215. This camp is for kids ages 9-14 and will be held at the Shelburne Town Gym.  Shelburne Players is thrilled to have director Sean Moran join them this year for the theater camp. Campers will learn the basics of what it takes to put on a musical, including making simple costumes; painting a set; and learning about character development, body awareness, and use of voice. The week will culminate in the Saturday performance of a short musical to which family, friends, and community members are invited. Sean is a professional actor, director, and writer, with screen, stage, and TV experience. Campers should bring a lunch, snack, and wear appropriate shoes and clothes to move around indoors and out. No previous stage experience is necessary. Come to learn and have fun. Camp fee includes a t-shirt.  The end of the week performance will be held at 1 pm on Sat., Aug. 3.  Go to www.shelburneplayers.com for more information.
