Shelburne volunteers uproot invasive species

Aug-1-T-Frogbit-Volunteer Peg Rosenau steers a boatload of invasive frogbit. Shelburne volunteers have helped to make the LaPlatte River healthier for wildlife and more hospitable to boaters and anglers. Working under the leadership of the Lewis Creek Association, volunteers have picked thousands of pounds of the invasive plant European Frogbit out of the waters. With only one more week to go, readers can be a part of this project by spending a couple of pleasant hours on the river collecting frogbit with kayaks and canoes provided.
