Ruth Pittsinger Blomstrann – Shelburne

Ruth P. Blomstrann, 86, of Shelburne, formerly of Enfield, Conn., passed away in the Vermont Respite House in Williston, on May 5, 2012, in the company of her loving family. Born in Hartford, Conn., on Dec. 21, 1925, Ruth was the daughter of Robert Sylvester Pittsinger and Louise (Emery) Pittsinger. On June 21, 1947, she married Robert Ernest Blomstrann and they enjoyed 54 years together, until his death on Nov. 28, 2001. In 2002, Ruth moved to Vermont to be closer to her daughter, Jan Blittersdorf, of Burlington. After graduating from Newington High School, where she was a cheerleader and class officer, Ruth was a Sunday school teacher, avid swimmer and reader, as well as proud homemaker for her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Among her survivors are her 3 children: son, Richard and his wife, Diane Blomstrann; son, John and his wife, Robin Blomstrann; and her daughter, Jan Blomstrann Blittersdorf.
