The 43rd Annual Mad River Valley Craft Fair will feature Shelburne artist John Arthur of Windrush Sculpture this Labor Day Weekend. He will present metal sculpture created with copper, steel, brass, and bronze. This intimate craft fair located in Waitsfield runs Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, 10 am to 5 pm. The fair will be open rain or shine and is the finale event for the month-long Festival of the Arts.
Over 100 juried artisans from all over the region and beyond will present a wide variety of handmade products. Dance in the grass to some mellow sounds from The Green Mountain Swing Band on Saturday. This 18-piece big band plays Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and Duke Ellington standards from the swing era – as well as more modern favorites. Colleen Mari & the Mad Drivers will perform blues and jazz tunes on Sunday.
The fair is located in Kenyon’s field on Rte 100 just North of Waitsfield Village in the beautiful Mad River Valley. The $4 admission (children under 12 are free) is good for both days and includes a chance for door prizes donated by local businesses. Owned and operated by The Valley Players, the entry ticket is good for a discount on any Valley Players’ production. Parking is free. Please leave your pets in the comfort of their own home.
