Shelburne Vineyard will host a fall art exhibit titled “Visions of Vermont,” featuring a diverse group of five local artists Sept. 3 through Nov. 28. The artwork encompasses a broad range of styles in both photography and pottery. The artists are photographers Patricia Lyon Surrey, Lisa Dimondstein, Julie Parker, and Sandra Shenk and potter Gail Yanowitch. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 2-5 pm, when the artists will be at the Vineyard to share their perspectives and meet the public. Light refreshments will be available and wine will be for sale by the glass.
The group of women whose work comprises this exhibit “enjoy the challenge of each other’s critiques and encouragement and enjoy the inspiration that Vermont has to offer…” Each month they select a theme for exploration. “Visions of Vermont,” is a culmination of their explorations and offer a rich experience of color and mood using images, techniques, and materials that range from still life, montage, and landscape to function of form, abstraction, and whimsy.
