The Flying Pig Bookstore, recently named Yankee Magazine’s best children’s bookstore in New England, is pleased to be hosting the dynamic duo of Phil and Erin Stead at the Shelburne Town Hall on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 11 am. The Steads are the masterminds behind the Caldecott winner, “A Sick Day for Amos McGee” which Phil wrote and Erin illustrated.
This appearance promotes their latest releases. “If You Want to See a Whale,” illustrated by Erin, features a young boy learning about patience in his attempts to see a whale. “Hello, My Name is Ruby,” which Phil wrote and illustrated, tells the story of a small bird navigating her way in a world much larger than herself. Both books will be read at the story hour and will be available for signing.
