Vermont Ice Ball benefits US Olympic Luge Team

The Vermont Ice Ball, which benefits the U.S. National Luge team, will be held Friday, Sept.20 at the Hilton Hotel in Burlington from 7 pm to 12 midnight.

“Everyone is excited to watch the Sochi Olympic Games in February. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to personally connect with the athletes you could be watching,” said Cynthea Hausman, event coordinator.

The United States is the only country in the world that does not support athletes at the elite level with federal funding. With your support, the U.S. Luge Association will invest to ensure that we can see the stars and stripes fly high in Sochi.

The USLA’s athletes and programs are funded solely by the generosity of the public with a mix of private contributions, corporate sponsorship, membership fees, U.S. Olympic Committee grants and endowment earnings.

The current members of the team will be in attendance at the event, along with alumni, Olympians, and Olympic hopefuls. Members of the current team will be selected for competition in the Winter Olympic Games.

The event provides an opportunity for the public to meet and socialize with these elite athletes while showing their support for Team USA. The event will feature Hors de Oeuvre’s, music, dancing, desserts, and a cash bar.

Tickets to the event are $50 per person. VIP tickets are available for $100 per person and include signed photographs, autographs, at a private VIP reception within the event.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online, or at the door. To purchase tickets in advance visit: www.VermontIceBall.EventBrite.com.
