We all know the adage, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” The annual Lake Champlain Waldorf School Rummage Sale is back in spades. Now community members can shop for other gems while helping us polish our new treasure: the future new home of the Lake Champlain Waldorf High School in Shelburne. Whether it is furnishings or fun clothing, something for your loved ones or your lawn, Rummage Sale Bliss is bound to have an item that speaks to you. With fantastic merchandise donated from over 200 families, this is one of the largest rummage sales in the area; and the involvement of the entire school community makes it a fun, unique experience.
This year’s sale is extra special because it is our first open community event in the new building. “It’s great that, like some of the items donated to the sale, we’ve outgrown our old high school space in Charlotte; now we get to try on this new-to-us building for size,” said one high school parent. With the new location comes the great opportunity to spread out and capitalize on our wonderful volunteer’s artful organization skills.
Rummage Sale Bliss will be held on Saturday, Sept.21, from 9 am to 1 pm at the old Morgan Horse Museum property, 122 Bostwick Rd in Shelburne. Sorry, no early birds allowed (people generally start lining up around 8:40 am). While you shop, enjoy homemade baked goods, coffee and other refreshments. “I can’t wait for our repeat customers, and many new ones, to see our brand new facility,” Development Director Lisa Espenshade enthuses. “We are entering the final stretch of our campaign to raise funds so we can begin renovating this gorgeous site into our new high school. Shopping with a view of the Adirondacks: what fun!”
