We’d like to thank all who donated their gently-read books to the Friends of the Pierson Library book sale and to all of you who attended the sale to stock up your bookcases for winter reading. Most of all, we deeply appreciate the hard work of all the volunteers who gave so generously of their time to make this such a successful event – and a special shout out to the Boys Scouts for their help in setting up the sale. Be assured that your donations will be used wisely to enhance the Pierson Library.
Musical Story Time: Every Thursday at 10:30 am in the Children’s Library. Join Mary Catherine and her puppet friends as she reads aloud from a selection of children’s books and sings toe-tapping songs.
Calling all kids: Come to the Pierson on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 3:15 pm to make your very own haunted house to bring home with you for your Halloween decorations. All ages are welcome, but please call us at 985-5124 to register so we can be sure to have adequate supplies on hand.
We know that Shelburne is populated with folks with a variety of talents and experiences. We’d love to have you share them with others in a program at Pierson. For example, we’d like to start an “armchair traveler” series where different people in our community would tell their stories and show pictures of trips they have taken, either around the world or close to home. Where have you been recently? Would you like talk about your experiences? We are also thinking of pairing books with a food theme with a pot luck supper at the Pierson, featuring foods from around the world. Do you have a terrific recipe others should know about? A favorite food-themed book to suggest? Most of all, we want to develop programs that would appeal to you. What would you like to see or do at the Pierson? Let us know by calling 985-5124 or talking with us when you next visit the Library.
Coming soon at the Pierson:
