Biting bears and chasing down poachers barefoot at midnight, wearing only his briefs, are among the true stories in the new book “Maine Wild, Adventures of Fish & Game Wardens” by Charlotte author Megan Price.
“Before the hit reality TV show ‘North Woods Law’ starring Maine wardens, there was Warden Parker Tripp,” Price said. Parker’s stories will have readers on the edge of their seats and laughing out loud. Tripp and Price will sign books at Kinney Drugs on Route 116 in Hinesburg, Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9:30-11 am and at Phoenix Books in Essex, Sunday, Nov. 10 from 11 am-1 pm.
“Maine Wild” is the fourth volume in the warden book series by the award-winning former Rutland Herald reporter. “The stories appeal to anyone who loves the outdoors and adventure,” said Price. “For me, these wardens are heroes. Theirs is a very demanding job, both physically and mentally. And their stories are part of our history and deserve to be saved.”
Published in paperback by Pine Marten Press, all four volumes sell for $19.95 each and are available at all independent bookstores, Kinney Drugs, other locations statewide, and online.
