The 4th Annual P!NK for Pink fundraising Spin class will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10-11 am at Shelburne Health & Fitness (SH&F) to benefit the Cancer Patient Support Program.
Established by SH&F Spinning instructor Phyllis Bartling and Shelburne resident Christie Allen, the one-hour Spin class has become an annual fundraiser. “Although I had known Christie for several years I didn’t know that she was a P!NK fan until she heard the music I played for a Spin class,” Bartling shared. “We started talking and decided it would be a great idea to start a fundraiser for Breast Cancer survivors, hold it in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, play all music by P!NK, and name it P!NK for Pink.”
“We had a blast the first two years, dressing up, and acting crazy and raising money for the Cancer Patient Support program’s Breast Cancer Services and serving our neighbors here in Vermont,” Bartling continued. “Then last July, Christie was diagnosed with breast cancer. As she navigated her own battle, she was helped by the very organization we supported. She also learned about Mahana Magic and their wonderful work with local children of parents with cancer.”
This year P!nk for Pink will raise money for the Cancer Patient Support program’s Breast Cancer Services through the ride ($25 per person to Spin) and an online auction. It will also benefit Mahana Magic through the sales of luminaries that will light up the Spinning room on Oct. 26.
Please visit www.pinkforpink.org to register for the ride, donate, bid on auction items, and purchase a luminary to honor those we have lost to cancer, to celebrate those who have survived, and to cheer on those who are still fighting. Help us help the community this weekend!
