The town’s much-anticipated Halloween Parade and festivities will be celebrated this weekend. First organized by the local police department as a way to “keep kids busy and out of trouble” on Halloween, the event is a long-standing Shelburne tradition. The parade and activities at the fire station have continued under the direction of the Charlotte Shelburne Rotary Club, the organizer of the event for over three decades, alongside the town’s Parks and Recreation Department, who hosts the après-parade festivities at the town gym.
As usual floats will line up this Sunday, Oct. 27 at 12:45 pm at the Shelburne Shopping Park and the parade will begin on Falls Road at 2 pm. Following the parade, the fire station will host musical entertainment by Dr. Jazz and free hot dogs, popcorn, donuts, and refreshments will feed the masses. Trick-or-treating, games, candy, raffle prizes, and a costume contest will take place at the town gym from 2:30-4 pm.
Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food donation along with you to the gym for the Shelburne Food Shelf and receive a special Halloween prize.
