Ronald Keith Hier died on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at home with his loving family in Shelburne after a brief battle with cancer. Ron was born in Burlington, Vt. on Dec. 12, 1950. Ron was a pillar in the pest control industry beginning his career in Boston, Mass. Ron then proceeded to found L/R Pest Elimination Services in the early 1980s after marrying the love of his life Karen. Ron’s dedication and passion grew his one-man operation into the largest pest control company in Vermont, which he passed on to his son Brandon before his retirement. Ron’s love of golf brought many special friends into his life, he loved all the golf outings and vacations he spent with them. After 25 years as a member of Kwiniaska golf course we know his presence will be missed. Ron was a passionate duck hunter with his hunting buddies Jack and Alex. They loved being outdoors. But most of all Ron loved his family and friends. He loved spending time with them especially enjoying their holiday time in Stoneham, Mass. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Karen (Morley); his son Brandon and wife Robin (Glore); his sisters Sharon Mayo and husband Jim; Donna Wilson and husband Chuck; sister-in-law Patricia Lynch and husband Lorne, brother-in-law Stephen Morley and wife Victoria, brother-in-law William Morley and wife Bonnie; several nieces and nephews Katie Morley, Riley Morley, Devin Morley, William Morley, Ryan Morley and wife Anna, Lorne Lynch and Alex Lynch, Laura, Jessica, and Jimmy.
