The Lake Champlain Waldorf School is honored to host award-winning children’s author William Alexander, author of “Goblin Secrets” and “Ghoulish Songs,” on Nov. 4 at 7 pm. Alexander is one of the most acclaimed contemporary middle-grades writers and is known in particular for his steampunk genre fiction (a combination of fantasy, science fiction, and history). Alexander also has some Vermont roots: he earned his Master’s degree in English at UVM before turning to writing full-time.
Adults and older teens are welcome to come to Alexander’s lecture at the grade school campus of the Lake Champlain Waldorf School (359 Turtle Lane, Shelburne). Alexander will speak about the power of fantasy to inspire social and personal change. Tickets are $5 at the door.
In recognition of the appeal and power of fantasy to young and old alike, this public lecture is underwritten by an anonymous fan “in honor of book-loving grandmothers everywhere.”
