Safety Spot

O-5-T-Safety-Spot-BatteryBy Jim Buell, 2nd Asst. Chief Shelburne Fire Department

Fall back!
As you look forward to this weekend and moving your clocks one hour back, please don’t forget to change the battery in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as well. Test them to make sure they work, and then perform your family home escape drill. It is important that every member of your family know two ways out of every room, two ways out of your home, and your family meeting spot. It is important to let the 9-1-1 dispatcher know that everyone is out of the house and safe.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please call the fire department at 985-2366 and leave a message.

CHANGE YOUR CLOCK, CHANGE YOUR BATTERY, and remember …fire prevention/safety isn’t just one week of the year, but all 52!
