Jason Fitzgerald, an exercise physiologist and clinical coordinator at Dee Physical Therapy, officially kicked off the Great Diaper Drive to benefit the Committee On Temporary Shelter (COTS). Cash or diaper donations will be accepted now through Dec. 19 at Dee Physical Therapy offices at 23 San Remo Drive, South Burlington and 166 Athletic Drive, Shelburne, Monday through Thursday, 7 am-6 pm, or Fridays 7 am-4 pm.
“Over the past six years, I have collected, with the help of this amazing community, more than 100,000 diapers for families and children in need,” noted Fitzgerald. “My two children, Riley and Kaia, are the inspiration for this fundraiser. I work hard to show them how important it is to help others, and each year the diaper drive has grown.”
This year’s goal is 30,000 diapers, an increase of 10,000. “Right now we are halfway to that goal,” shared Fitzgerald. “These donations are so much more than diapers. Diapers are expensive, and if we can take this spending burden away from these families, then it will help them reestablish their independence. I am just so passionate about helping these families.”
