Farrell Distributing, local restaurants raise over $37K for breast care center

During September and October, Farrell Distributing, along with 17 Vermont restaurants, raised $37,338.22 for Fletcher Allen’s Breast Care Center. Participating restaurants included Leunigs Bistro, Windjammer, El Gato, Paulines, Knotty Shamrock, Shanty on the Shore, The Whiskey Room, Skinny Pancake, Table 24, Scuffer Steak and Ale House, Arvads, Sweetwaters, Barkeaters, The Essex, Harrison’s, and the Common Man.

This year’s annual campaign was supported by every bottle of selected Trinchero Family Estates wines purchased in over two months’ time. Participating restaurants and Farrell Distributing each donated $1 for every bottle sold to the local breast care center at Fletcher Allen Health Care. More recently, Long Trail Brewing jumped in; for every pint of Long Trail sold during these months, a .25 cent donation was made as well.

Bob Conlon, GM of Leunigs Bistro and founder of this fundraiser, shared, “Since my wife Betsy’s diagnosis and fantastic treatment 11 years ago, we have tried to show our gratitude by supporting other local patients. Leunigs does not have one guest or employee who doesn’t know someone who has dealt with breast cancer. With the help of all our partners in the hospitality industry, we provide enjoyment, comfort, and community. Raise a glass with us to salute successes against breast cancer.”
