The Far Post U17 girls premier team won the National Elite Women’s Soccer Showcase (NEWSS) tournament in Long Island on Thanksgiving weekend. The team went undefeated on their way to the tournament win – the first Vermont team to win this prestigious college showcase.

The team began its unbeaten streak Saturday with a convincing 5-0 win over Parma Vittoria (NJ) and then blanked Rochester Futbol (NY-W) 8-0. On Sunday, the team continued its winning streak with a 3-0 win over Odyssey Sport Eclipse (NY-E) and then finished with a 3-1 win over FC Westchester Elite 97 Premier (NY) in the championship game.

Sixteen goals were scored by the U17 girls in three qualifying games. It was the most goals scored by any team at NEWSS this weekend. There were 305 teams at the tourney in all. In four games, the U17 girls scored 19 goals and only gave up one.
