Will Karstens will perform at the Brownell Library in Essex Junction on Friday, Jan. 3.

Will Karstens, a senior at Champlain Valley Union High School, will perform a program of Bach, Debussy, Mendelssohn, Beethoven, and Villa Lobos at the Brownell Library in Essex Junction at Friday, Jan. 3, at 7 pm, as part of the library’s ongoing 1st Friday piano series.

Karstens began his piano studies in third grade with Patricia Bergeron, inspired by his musical sister, father, grandfather, and great-grandmother. He has participated in the National Guild of Piano Teachers auditions and events hosted by the Vermont Music Teachers’ Association. Karstens performs regularly at Allenwood in South Burlington as part of his grad challenge for CVU.

Karstens is a Boy Scout, working towards his Eagle rank. In his spare time he enjoys snowboarding, working out, and running on the CVU track & field team.
